Research On Animal Names In Shanhaijing

This paper is based on reading the literature and combing the old notes,There are 380 animal names in the book of Shanhaijing,From the perspective of word structure,motivation analysis and "name-reality" relationship,etc,The full text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is "Introduction".This part discusses the content and characteristics of Shanhaijing and its literature,language research status,as well as the research value,methods and significance of this paper.The study of Noun words is of great value in linguistics and encyclopaedia,and it is an important part of the study of Shanhaijing and the vocabulary of ancient times to study the abundant noun words in Shanhaijing.In the judgment of proper names,we should consider the problems of words and phrases,proper names and common names,and pay full attention to the errors of words and phrases,phonetic interchangeability,etc.,to ensure the accuracy of the subject(e.g.,to "close down").The second chapter is the classification description of animal names in Shanhaijing.There are 380 animal names in Shanhaijing,of which 61 are monosyllables,accounting for 16%,319 are polysyllables,accounting for 84%.Among the 319 polysyllabic animal names,there are 153 simple words,accounting for 48%,which are often constructed by Tautology,reiterative locution and so on.Among the compound animal names,73.4% of the 166 compound words are constructed by adding qualified morphemes such as "color","size" and "proper name plus class name".It should also be emphasized that many animal names in Shanhaijing are rarely found in other literature,and the entries and quotations in the dictionary of Yupian,Guangyun and Jiyun are based on Shanhaijing,and is often explained as "legendary animals".In this chapter,the author tries to make a textual research on the animal names in combination with the traditional Chinese characters and other related literatures.The third chapter is "the motivation analysis of animal names in Shanhaijing".This article draws on the materials of previous annotations and commentaries,and refers to the relevant achievements of academic circles,this paper probes into the reasons for the names of some animals in Shanhaijing from eight aspects,such as "sound motivation,color motivation,shape motivation,behavior motivation,action characteristic motivation,function motivation,space motivation,history and culturemotivation",the related research is helpful to understand the naming rules of animal names and the word structure of animal names.The Fourth Chapter is "the study of the relationship between animal nouns and their real names" in Shanhaijing.In this chapter,the key words of "the same name with the same reality" and "the same name with the same reality" in Shanhaijing are divided into groups.Because of the different naming ways and angles of people in different regions,there are more phenomena of "the same name with the same reality",this paper makes a detailed discussion and analysis of several groups of words with different names and the same reality,such as "PHOENIX" and "baboon",which is helpful to deepen the understanding of related words and the understanding of the interrelation among the texts of Shanhaijing.As stated in the introduction,the study of proper names has the double value of linguistics and encyclopedic specialization,but it is also very difficult.Due to the long history and the profound and complex contents of Shanhaijing,there are still many difficulties in the comprehensive,in-depth and accurate study of animal names in Shanhaijing,this article also has many deficiencies in the depth of analysis,to be further in-depth.
