Japanese Writing Of Huang Zunxian's Poems

As counselor and secretary of China's first delegation to Japan,Huang Zunxian recorded what he saw,heard and felt in poetry.These poems were collected together into two collections of poems,which named The Japanese Poems and The Renjinglu Poetry.These poems not only describe the image of Japan after The Meiji Revolution,but also show the mood of Chinese advanced intellectuals when they faced to the world in the late Qing dynasty.And It is well worth studying for that was the foreboding of the change of China from “despising Japan” to “taking Japan as a teacher”.This thesis will summarize the images of Japan created by Huang Zunxian in his poems through studying Huang Zunxian's related poems,his letters and Japanese records.And on the basis,the thesis try to investigate the characteristics of Japanese writing in Huang Zunxian's poems.In terms of this thesis,it includes two parts,introduction and the main body.As for the part of introduction,it's mainly states the significance of the topic selection and the innovation of this paper,and summarizes the domestic and foreign research situation which is closely related to the images of HuangZunxian's poems.As for the main body,it include three parts.In the first chapter,I introduced Huang Zunxian's connection with Japan and his work about Japan which is profound in the late Qing dynasty.And in the second chapter,it summarized the images that Huang Zunxian described in his poems during the time he stayed at Japan and the time left for other countries.The first stage presents a mix of traditional and European Japan,as well as the second stage presents two sides of Japan: a modern Japan and the image of the aggressor.Regard to the last chapter,it summarizes the characteristics of Huang Zunxian's Japanese writing according to the previous analysis.First of all,the rich subject and profound thinking of his poems make Huang Zunxian's Japan writing stand out from other Japanese travels.Secondly,due to Huang Zunxian's understanding of Japan and the world gradually matured,his understanding of China in the late Qing dynasty also deepened,so the image of Japan created in the poem also changed,and presenting the characteristics of deviating from the Ideological image and moving towards the Utopian image.Finally,Huang Zunxian's writing of Japan is a process of understanding Japan and accepting Japanese culture,as well as a process of re-understanding China,so his Japanese writing has double directivity.
