Vocabulary teaching is very crucial,especially in primary school.Related studies have shown that mind map can improve students’ ability of memorizing words.In recent years,the mind map has been gradually popularized and applied to the practice of vocabulary teaching.Therefore,how does it affect teaching,what problems may exist,how teachers should solve these problems and so on have research significance.Two issues were discussed:1)What are the effects of mind map on English vocabulary teaching in primary schools?2)What are the problems in the application of mind map in English vocabulary teaching in primary schools? How to solve?A variety of methods are used by the author in this study,which are literature review,questionnaire surveys,interviews and teaching experiment,to collect data related to this study and to try to carry triangular argument.In this study,the author collected data from the pre-test,post-test and questionnaire of the experimental class and the control class,and used SPSS to analyze the data.In the end,this study showed that the combination of mind map and primary school English vocabulary teaching could:1)Help students remember words,2)Stimulate students’ interest in vocabulary learning,3)Extend the channels for students to learn English words.And the following problems are found during the application of mind map in English vocabulary teaching in primary schools:1)Teachers’ lack of understanding of using mind map in vocabulary teaching.2)It is difficult to draw an effective word thinking map.3)Lack of resources for word mind map.This thesis puts forward three suggestions through analysis and investigation:Teachers need to deepen their understanding of mind map and improve their ability to use the mind map;find ways to guide students to draw mind map,reduce the difficulty of drawing;Students share mind maps and actively expand the resources of mind maps... |
