In The study of textbooks has drawn more and more attention from academic circles. The study of spoken Chinese textbooks, especially elementary Chinese spoken textbooks, has become the focus of recent research, because it determines the communicative competence of learners to a certain extent. This article selects two elementary spoken Chinese textbooks of "Step by step Chinese" and "Jump high-A systematic Chinese course" to conduct a comparative analysis, focusing on the text, vocabulary and grammar of the textbook. Both textbooks are suitable for learners who have a zero starting point in Chinese. They are two primary oral textbooks aimed at cultivating students’ oral Chinese communication skills. There is very little research on the two textbooks. This article selects two textbooks for comparative analysis.First,it examines the writing style and principles in the general situation of textbook writing, and then makes reference to the relevant outline of the preparation of textbooks for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The respective advantages of the textbooks have also been found to be deficient in three aspects. In the text, the subject matter of the two textbooks is relatively small, and the topic arrangement is not scientific. In terms of vocabulary, vocabulary levels are unevenly distributed, and some word compilations are not scientific enough. In terms of grammar, the number of grammars is relatively small, and there are unscientific points in the arrangement order. Finally, according to the problems in the textbooks, the text, vocabulary, and grammar sections of the textbooks are revised accordingly,in order to provide some references for the compilation and selection of similar textbooks in the future. |
