Writing is an important manifestation of students' comprehensive language use ability,which occupies an important position in English learning and teaching.The junior high school English writing teaching has achieved certain results,but there are still major problems such as ignoring the students' subjective initiative,focusing on the teacher's teaching,limiting the students' thinking and effective expression,etc.Teachers only pay attention to the results and ignore the cultivation and training of students' writing process.Students generally start writing after the teacher's lecture is over,and begin writing when they have not absorbed the content taught by the teacher,which limits the students' writing thinking to a certain extent.Students lose interest in writing,but also limit students' writing skills.It is necessary to explore and discover new junior high school English writing teaching methods,which are applied in teaching practice,weakness to stimulate students' writing interest,enhance students' writing initiative,improve students' academic performance,and better achieve the goal of effective teaching of junior high school English writing.PAD class is a new mode of classroom teaching proposed by Professor Zhang Xuexin in 2013.The PAD class adopts the method of separate discussion to complete the three modes of “Presentation-Assimilation-Discussion”.The basic idea of this mode is to divide the class time into two,half of which is used for lectures by teachers,and another half is used for group cooperation and discussion.Staggering the time of the teacher's lecture and the students' discussions can ensure that students have enough time to learn and internalize the knowledge they have learned.This mode is more inclined to focus on students' interest in learning,willingness to communicate and initiative in learning,thereby improving teaching effectiveness.It is the research question that this article attempts to answer by designing the junior high school English writing teaching in the PAD class,applying it in teaching practice and testing its effect.It mainly involves two aspects: The one is whether the PAD class mode can improve students' writing enthusiasm,and the other one is whether they can improve students' writing achievement.The research subjects of the research are the students of class 15 and class 18 in Grade 7 of the Attached Middle School to Yan'an Vocational and Technical College.During the last semester of research,50 students in the experimental class adopt PAD class teaching mode,while 51 students in the control class adopt current teaching mode.In this study,questionnaire,experiment,pretest and posttest were used.In September 2019,a writing test was conducted for students,and the results of the test were the results of the pretest.Before the experiment,questionnaire survey and writing test were conducted in two classes.The test result is that the average score of the experimental class is 9.56,and that of the control class is 9.96.There is no significant difference in the scores of the two classes.After the experiment,a second writing test was performed on the students in the experimental class and the control class as a posttest score.In the posttest,the experimental class score was 12.72,and the control class score was 11.49.There was a significant difference between the two classes.The purpose of the pre-questionnaire is to get information about the current writing status of students.Through the survey,it is found that most students lack interest in English writing,and their participation is relatively low.Post-questionnaire was only distributed to the students in the experimental class,more than 70% of the students in the experimental class thought that the PAD class mode could help them improve their writing motivation and open their writing ideas.Through the questionnaire survey before and after the experiment,the analysis of the pretest and posttest results show that compared with the current English writing teaching mode,PAD class can not only improve students' writing enthusiasm but also improve students' writing achievement.
