At the critical moment of the Chinese nation’s crisis,the May 4th Movement has become a bright dawn shining on the land of China.It is not only an anti-imperialist and anti-feudalist patriotic revolutionary movement that plays the main role of advanced young intellectuals to promote the broad participation of the people,but also a great social revolutionary movement that gathers the inexhaustible strength of the Chinese nation to save the nation in crisis,and a great social revolutionary movement that spreads new ideas,new culture and new knowledge The ideological enlightenment and the new cultural movement.Music teaching method is a new subject born with the establishment of a new school,which also flourished in the context of the May 4th movement.This paper takes the music teaching method before and after the May 4th movement as the research object,and focuses on the music teaching method works before and after the May 4th movement,focusing on the music teaching method books of musicians such as Lei Jiajun,Chen Zhongzi,Fei Liyin and Hu Jingxi,Besides,there are periodical articles published by Zeng Zhizhi,Shen Binglian,Wang Yi and You Xuan.This paper introduces these authors’ life,basic information,style structure,ideas,content and materials.This paper discusses the achievement value and problem reflection of music teaching method before and after the May 4th movement,in order to provide some enlightenment and reference for the research of music teaching method today.
