With the increase of China’s influence in the world,the number of foreign students in China is increasing year by year.How to improve the quality of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and ensure the effect of foreign students’ language learning has become one of the urgent issues to be discussed in universities and the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Although studies have shown that task–based teaching method is effective in improving students’ language quality(fluency,accuracy and complexity),the number of studies on the application of TBLT to Chinese teaching for foreign students in China is still limited.The present thesis tries to carry out an empirical study on the application of TBLT in primary oral Chinese teaching in Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology,and studies the actual teaching effect of TBLT from two aspects: language application and emotional attitude.This study was conducted in a group of parallel classes,with the experimental class adopting TBLT and the control class adopting non-TBLT.The oral fluency,accuracy and emotional level of students in both classes were analyzed by recording detailed information of classroom teaching,interviews and the mid-term and final test results.After one semester’s experiments,it is found that for the foreign students in China,TBLT can improve the language proficiency,reduce the anxiety of learning Chinese and enhance the interest and initiative of learning. |
