A Study Of Taiwan’s Realistic Films

Taiwan Film have achieved brilliant results in the more than 100 years since the film was produced.Taiwan directors have also attracted attention at home and abroad with their unique narrative methods and rich themes.Hou Hiaoxian is one of the leading figures in Taiwan’s film industry at home and abroad.He not only plays the role of an art bearer,but also a cultural philosopher.His earlier works "The Man from the Wind Cabinet" and "The Son’s "Big Doll","Winter Winter Holiday","Childhood Past",etc.all reflect his sharp eyes to capture the life style of the people of Taiwan.In 2017,Taiwan director Huang Xinyao won the Golden Horse Award for the feature film "Big Buddha Plus"-the film was created based on his 2014 short film "Big Buddha".Huang Xinyao mentioned in the interview that he was deeply influenced by Hou Hiaoxian’s film,and because of his unique life experience,he achieved the feature film "Big Buddha Plus".This paper takes the early works directed by Hou Xiaoxian and the realist films such as "The Big Buddha Plus" directed by Huang Xinyao as the research object,examines the defects of the construction of the mainland’s art film industry,and reflects on the shortcomings of the mainland’s excessive commercialization and lack of humanistic care.To develop a "regional film" development strategy.Specifically,the first part of the introduction mainly describes the research background,research summary,research content,and research purpose and significance of Taiwan realism films.The second part defines the film’s creative thinking "experience and extension",through the use of lenses,realism and other aspects to explain the influence of Hou Xiaoxian on director Huang Xinyao and analyze their common points.The third part is based on the life and work experience of director Hou Xiaoxian and director Huang Xinyao.An analysis of their personality characteristics is made to explain the reasons for the different effects of their films.And through the interpretation of the "Big Buddha Plus" film,Huang Xinyao is analyzed.The director’s inheritance and innovation of Hou Xiaoxian’s film style.The fourth part,through the elaboration of realism and humanitarianism,anticipates the future of Taiwan ’s realism films,and gives an example of the impact of Taiwan ’s realism films on the creation of mainland films;at the same time,it discusses how commercial and artistic realism films do To unity.The fifth part elaborates how to apply the editing methods and shots of Hou Xiaoxian and Huang Xinyao’s films to my graduation creation,and adds my own observations on the status quo of the mainland,so that the works can be fully presented.The conclusion part summarizes the value and significance of the existence of realist movies,and analyzes how to use the image to effectively help the marginal characters through my graduation design creation practice.
