Chapter 19 of the book Water security-principle,Perspectives and Practices was translated in this translation practice report.The academic research achievements and related policies in the field of water governance were mainly introduced in this book,focusing on the reflection of the management and academic circles on global water security issues,including the dispute over the concept of water security,water security of the ecosystem and ecosystem of the water security;water sharing,flood prevention and control and water security;interconnected variables of water,food and human safety,water security theories and methods,tools and audits and so on.Based on Nida's theory of functional equivalence,the author analyzed and summarized the problems encountered in translation from three aspects,including lexical equivalence,syntactic equivalence and textual equivalence.The translation report was divided into four parts: introduction of the translation project,the writing process of the report,case analysis and report summary.The first part mainly introduced the background and significance of the task.The second was mainly the writing process of the report,including the preparation before translation,the translation process,the proofreading after translation and the handling of difficult problems.The third part was case analysis.As the key point of the translation report,how to apply functional equivalence theory to the realization of this paper is analyzed in detail.In this part,the embodiment of vocabulary,syntax and text was illustrated in the translation.The last part was to summarize the problems in this translation and the enlightenment brought by this translation practice.
