Study On Moral Courage

Human moral life requires strong support of moral courage.Moral courage is the psychological state in which people realize that moral choice will make them face terrible dangers and difficulties in the process of practicing morality,and still continue to adhere to moral choice.Moral courage is mainly related to people’s moral will,and is the actual embodiment of human moral will.The moral life of human beings is selective,it requires us to continuously make good and evil value choices.When we make choices,the presence of moral courage is very important.We can resolutely choose the value of good,or hesitantly choose the value of good,or evade the value of good in a fearful manner.These facts reflect our moral courage.People often confuse moral courage with courage virtue.Courage virtue is an important form of human virtue,it can be expressed through human moral courage,but it cannot be simply equated with moral courage.A person with moral courage does not mean to have courage virtue.Moral courage can become courage virtue through cultivation and training.Moral courage has moral value.Moral value stipulates the value boundary of moral courage,limits moral courage to the range of moral rationality,and thus distinguishes moral courage from other courage.The primary characteristic of moral value is altruism,which derives from empathy,recognition and protection of the interests of others.The manifestation of moral courage in humans is often to protect the interests of others.It is this protection of the interests of others that allows moral courage to be praised by people.In addition,the moral value of moral courage is usually reflected in the choice of moral dilemma.The expression of moral courage means that the moral agent must pay a certainmoral price when achieving the goal of altruistic moral value.Those who truly have moral courage are willing to take risks for the moral value goal.We should pay attention to the cultivation of moral courage in the process of civic moral construction.As more and more people lack moral courage,today’s Chinese society has emerged with moral indifferences such as "help or not help".Moral life tests people’s moral will and requires people to dare to act in the moral life.Paying attention to cultivating people’s moral courage is an important task of citizens’ moral construction in the new era.
