A Study Of Zhu Cheng’s Flower And Bird Painting

This dissertation takes Zhu Cheng,a painter of Qing Dynasty,as the main research object,and makes a deeper exploration and analysis of his flower and bird paintings.Zhu Cheng was one of the "ten masters of the sea painting school" in the late Qing Dynasty.He led the mainstream of the sea flower and bird painting school together with Wang Li and enjoyed a high reputation in the field of Shanghai Painting and calligraphy.Through the study of the background of his time,we know that the rise of Shanghai Commodity art had a certain impact on Zhu Cheng’s painting style.From the perspective of the evolution of Zhu Cheng’s artistic style of flower and bird painting,in his early years,his ink was mellow and beautiful;his middle-aged side was reckless;in his later years,he tended to be insipid and implicative,which had a great influence on the contemporary and future flower and bird painters of the sea painting school.Zhu Cheng’s advantages are that he combines the painting style of his predecessors with his own ideas and forms his own unique painting language.Skillfully use the teacher’s brushwork to create a simple and fluent personal painting style.The composition is novel and the color is beautiful;the shape is beautiful and graceful,the flowers are luxuriant,the painting is scattered and miscellaneous,and has unique interest;its modeling ability and sketching ability are fully reflected in the shape and charm of flowers,birds and insects with both shape and spirit.Through the study of ZhuCheng’s life and style of flower and bird painting,this dissertation combs the artistic style and characteristics of different stages of Zhu Cheng’s flower and bird painting.This paper analyzes the artistic features of Zhu Cheng’s flower and bird painting from two aspects of artistic form and artistic conception creation,and makes in-depth analysis from the aspects of brush and ink,composition,color setting,and subject matter,and uses the painting techniques of "shape and spirit" and the artistic style of "elegance and common appreciation" to present the artistic conception expression in painting.This paper summarizes the artistic contributions and achievements of Zhucheng’s flower and bird paintings,as well as the inheritance and development of Zhucheng’s flower and bird paintings.
