With the influence of the new curriculum standards and the reform of English teaching,the English teaching in junior middle schools is facing more challenges in compulsory education.As the subject of English has its particularity,it attracts much attention in the compulsory education stage and is also an important part of the middle school classes.Therefore,in the process of promoting the English teaching reform,we should stick to the important goal of the English curriculum reform: the cultivation of students' English language ability,the cultivation of students' thinking quality and the cultivation of students' interest in English learning.When faced with the problem of "dumb English" of modern students,the educator should combine with the core quality of English subject,take the students' interest as the starting point,and take the brand-new teaching method--drama teaching as the clue.It is of great theoretical value and practical significance to explore the effective methods and approaches of English listening and speaking teaching for us to improve the oral English communicative competence of junior middle school students and finally form the core accomplishment of English discipline.On the basis of literature analysis,this study expounds the influence of drama teaching on English listening and speaking,focusing on the proximal zone and affective filter hypothesis,to find the correspondency of drama teaching,provides certain scientific nature and rationality,in order to solve the following two research questions: 1)What impact does drama teaching have on junior high school students' interest in English learning? 2)Can drama teaching improve junior students' English listening and speaking ability? To this end,the author in The Middle School Attached to Yan'an Technical College,the first grade 110 students as the object of study for a semester of teachingexperiments.Through the combination of improvisation,role playing and drama creation.Questionnaire survey of students before and after the experiment and interview of ten students at different levels after the experiment,the change of students' interest in English learning can be understood.By using the listening test paper and the speaking test paper before and after the experiment to summarize and conclude the changes of students' listening and speaking ability,it is concluded that drama teaching method can not only stimulate junior middle school students' interest in English learning,but also improve their English listening and speaking ability.
