Middle school is a critical period of moral development.Psychologists have made in-depth moral studies in this period,striving to combine it with psychological knowledge and solve the problems in the moral development of middle school students from the practical point of view.In this context,This paper mainly investigates the online games usage time in middle school students,and the development level of moral sensitivity and empathy,analyzes the relationship between the online games usage time in middle school students and the development level of moral sensitivity,and discusses whether there is a moderating effect of empathy between the two.A total of 828 valid questionnaires were collected from the students in grade one,grade two and grade three of a junior high school in Henan province and grade one and grade two of a senior high school in Hebei province.According to the data analysis results,select 20 moral sensitivity and empathy ability of junior middle school students as the research subjects,and randomly divided into experimental group and control group,the experimental group students take eight weeks of group guidance,do not take any measures to control students and to examine the group guidance scheme to improve the effectiveness of middle school students’ moral sensitivity level.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)the online games usage time,empathy and moral sensitivity were correlated in two ways.The game time was negatively correlated with empathy and moral sensitivity,and positively correlated with empathy and moral sensitivity.(2)the online games usage time and empathy were significantly correlated with gender,grade,and whether or not an only child,and the moral sensitivity was significantly correlated with gender variables.Boys spent significantly more time playing online games than girls,and girls scored significantly more than boys in terms of empathy and moral sensitivity.(3)empathy can play a moderating role in the online games usage time to moral sensitivity.Compared with the subjects with low empathy level,the subjects with high empathy level had a more obvious trend of moral sensitivity decline with the increase of the online games usage time.That is,with the increase of empathy,the online games usage time had a stronger predictive effect on moral sensitivity.(4)after group counseling,there were significant differences in the scores of empathy and moral sensitivity in the experimental group,which were higher than the level before the experiment.The online games usage time was significantly reduced compared with that before the experiment.There is no significant difference in the frequency of online games.There was no significant change between pre-test and post-test.The empathy ability and moral sensitivity of the experimental group were significantly higher than that of the control group,and the online games usage time in the experimental group decreased compared with the control group,to demonstrate the effectiveness of the group counseling.
