| Anxiety is a common concern in today’s society, and the general anxiety of college students has also gradually become the focus of attention of all sectors of society.Anxiety can be prevented and intervened.Exploring the mechanism of anxiety is of great significance to propose anxiety intervention programs.Interpretation bias is an important predictor of anxiety and a large number of studies have shown that interpretation bias is closely related to anxiety.Antonovsky proposed that sense of coherence including three dimensions:understandable, controllable, meaningful, and multiple studies have found that sense of coherence and its sub-dimensions can predict anxiety negatively. The higher the level of individual sense of coherence, the lower the level of anxiety, and the different of the level of sense of coherence, the different the characteristics of its interpretation bias. This paper attempts to discuss the relationship between the sense of coherence, interpretation bias and anxiety, and explain the mediating role of interpretation bias between sense of coherence and anxiety. In this study, two researches were carried out in Wuhan university students. The first study use Sense of Coherence Scale,The Interpretation Questionnaire and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale as research tools for survey, recycling effective questionnaire 382 to explore the relationship among college students’sense of coherence, interpretation bias and anxiety;Based on the results of the first study, the second study through interpret college students by Interpretation Modification Paradigm and then test its effect on anxiety. The results of the study are as follows:(1)Among the college students participating in the survey,28.8%of college students experienced above mild anxiety, and 2.1%of college students had severe anxiety, which showed that most college student had a sense of anxiety. The difference test showed that anxiety differed significantly in majors and grades, and not significant in Household registration, whether or not be only child. The average level of sense of coherence among college students is low,and there is a significant difference among grades:the sense of coherence of master students is significantly higher than other grades.(2)Dimensions of psychological agreement are negatively correlated with anxiety and negative interpretation, and positively correlated with positive and neutral interpretations.Negative interpretation is positively related to anxiety, and positive interpretation and neutral interpretation are negatively related to anxiety.(3)Negative interpretation plays a partly mediating role between college students’ sense of coherence and anxiety. The sense of coherence can directly affect anxiety or indirectly affect anxiety through the mediation of depression negative interpretation.(4)After the explanation bias training, the anxiety scores of college students were reduced but not significant.According to the research results, the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)The anxiety phenomenon of college students is widespread, and the anxiety levels of students of different majors and genders are significantly different.Grade is one of the factors that affect the level of sense of coherence.(2)In addition to directly affecting the level of anxiety, sense of coherence also affects the level of anxiety through negative interpretation. The higher the individual’s level of sense of coherence, the less negative explanations he/she will made and then having lower anxiety level.(3)Interpretation bias training can improve college students’ positive interpretation and relieve their anxiety. |
