A Comparative Study Of The Poetic Theories Of Zong Baihua And Zhu Guangqian

The researches into the poems of 20th century has shown colorful appearance with the consideration on new poems.The poem researches of Zong Baihua and Zhu Guangqian have spark significance of all these researches.Generally,Zong Baihua formed the criticism of poems with more Chinese traditions unintentionally,while Zhu Guangqian completed his structural comb of Chinese poems in a super-culture academical vision intentionally.My paper focuses on the comparison of the poetic theories between Zong Baihua and Zhu Guangqian,and the paper has four divisions.The first division is a concentrated comparison on researching solutions,themes of contents and the patterns of theory in a macro view,so as to acquire a general hold of the poetics of the two people.Zong Baihua mainly uses the cross-culture researching solution to highlight the life sentiments in ways including comparing and traditional words.Zhu Guangqian established systemized poetic in the context of super-culture,and made a combination of Chinese and Western theories.His theme of poetic gives priority to patterns of poems with attention to the links between patterns and content.The second division discusses views of Zong and Zhu on poems and different art categories.Zong Baihua prefers external researches and focuses on poems as an organic part of the overall Chinese art.He reflects on how to embody Chinese philosophy into Chinese poems through the connection between poems and other arts.The common part between painting and poems is the spacial sense and flexible visions which makes the content and theme of Chinese poems appear unique.The common part between music and poems is the rhythm.Zong Baihua understands rhythm within the range of ethos,and categorize the rhythm of poems into the theme of life in his poetic.While Zhu Guangqian extracts the cultural background of poems and studies the difference between poems and essay,music and painting in an internal view,and he confirms that the structures of poems can also express beauty.He thinks that the essence are acquired from pattern and content,thus the rhythm should be embodied on the rhythm of words and music.The third division discusses the inheritance and development of the atmosphere study of classical poems theory by Zong and Zhu.Zong Baihua prefers using traditional Chinese words to exploit spiritual meaning in the depth of the atmosphere.He mainly refers to the meaning of the atmosphere in the sphere of life,with pre-conditions including mountains,waters,and its features of Tao,Wu and Bai.His works embody Chinese sentiments of life from place to place.Zhu Guangqian uses the studies of gut feeling,psychological distance,changing love and other Western modern scientific theories to analyse the production of poem circumstances.He also conducts examinations and assesments on the differences including those between Separating and Not Separating,Self and Selfless in his own poetic context,and proposed studies of the sphere of Super-material and the sphere Equal-material.He attempts to use the links between interests and images in the context of poems which are very innovative.The forth division discusses theories on new poems by Zong and Zhu respectively.The discussion about how to create new poems can all be concluded into two aspects of pattern and content.Zong Baihua thinks that the pattern default of new poems is simplicity.His suggestion is that one can avoid directness on patterns by adding philosophical depth in the area of content.Apart from philosophical consideration,Zong also advocates expressing nature,society and real feeling on life from outside world,and achieving surpass on life through philosophical consideration.Zhu Guangqian focuses on the patterns of new poems from the beginning and advocates constructing recognized patterns of new poems.He thinks that there are three ways can be drawn on:Western poems,classical poems and folk poem,and one can find patterns of new poems from their creating experiences.At the same time Zhu has his own views on the interests embodying of new poems:we should create more practical poems expressing society and people instead of too many romantic poems.
