A Report On English-Chinese Translation Of Israel's Technology Economy(Excerpt)

With the rapid development of digital economy and 5G technology,the world is setting off a new wave of technological revolution,and the era of knowledge economy is booming.Israel has always been in the leading position in the world in the field of knowledge economy,which is worthy of our in-depth study.The translation and introduction of literature and works in relevant professional fields has become particularly important.In view of this,the translator selected parts of the book Israel's Technology Economy for translation and wrote a practical report accordingly.Israel's Technology Economy is a book to popularize economic knowledge in Israel with a large and substantial amount of information.In the process of information transmission,how to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of information becomes a top priority.The translator chooses Nord's function plus loyalty theory as the macro theoretical guidance.In the process of translation,the translator always aims at realizing the intended function of the target text in the target language environment,adheres to the principle of loyalty and coordinates the relationship among the original author,the target language reader,the initiator of the translation task,etc.This report mainly includes five aspects,namely,the introduction to the practice,task description,process description,theoretical review and case analysis.In the part of case analysis,under the guidance of Nord's theory,the translator discusses translation problems from the following three aspects: at the lexical level,regarding the translation of terms and the selection of word meaning,translation techniques such as annotation,addition,and concretization of meaning are used to achieve pragmatic enrichment effect;at the syntactic level,taking the transformation of English compound sentences,passive sentences in English-Chinese translation as an example,the translator discusses how to naturally and smoothly realize semantic connection and pragmatic effect by means of translation division,word order adjustment,shift from passive voice to active voice,etc.;at the textual level,the translator analyzes the specific problems and uses different cohesive means such as reference,substitution and ellipsis while taking into consideration the grammatical phenomenon of the original text and the differences between English and Chinese.In this translation practice,the translator has made an attempt to translate popular economic science books.It is found that when Nord's theory is taken as a guide and the theory and practice are closely combined,suggestions can be provided for the translation of related texts in the future,and the accuracy,objectivity and logicality of the translation can be improved.
