A Narrative Study Of A Documentary On Children With Disabilities

Childhood is precious for everyone,and the living conditions and psychological conditions of vulnerable children need the careful care of everyone in the society.In recent years,children ’s documentaries have mostly concentrated on vulnerable children,such as children in poverty-stricken areas,left-behind children,orphans and handicapped children.Among them,the number of disabled children ’s documentaries produced is relatively small,and special characters have raised the audience ’s viewing psychology.As a documentary that can be truly imaged and spread,it is the best way to reflect the group of disabled children,but the intervention of the camera to the vulnerable groups and how to tell the story are the difficulties that creators need to face in the creative process.Therefore,this study focuses on the documentary of children with disabilities.It interprets the documentary of children with disabilities in recent years,sorts out the relevant features,and explores the narrative art that is difficult to grasp when the documentary of children with disabilities is created.Based on the narrative characteristics of the documentary,the article takes disabled children as the object of attention,and combines the knowledge of ethics,through the creative practice in the graduation work "Sound of the Heart",from the narrative strategy and narrative ethics of the creation process of the disabled children theme documentary detailed analysis.First of all,this article defines the concept of documentary films for disabled children,and analyzes the characteristics of documentary films for disabled children in combination with cases.The limited ability of disabled children to express themselves affects the processing of audio-visual language,and the difference in viewers ’perspectives creates some creative difficulties.And explored the current problems in the development of documentary films for children with disabilities,mostly concentrated on the narrative level of suffering,the guidance of the creator’s subjective consciousness affects the objectivity of the documentary.Then from three aspects of narrative angle,narrative language,and narrative style,the narrative strategy of the disabled children’s documentary is studied.Through multiple perspectives and repeated narratives,the story’s appeal is enhanced,the long-lens awareness and the necessary explanations are supplemented.Conflicts and interview-style recording methods improve viewing.Secondly,the ethical intervention of the narrative subject,the ethical performance of the narrative text,and the ethical dialogue of the narrative acceptanceare analyzed.The ethical issues of the narrative that should be paid attention to in the creation stage of the documentary film are balanced.From the perspective of narrative ethics,explored the issues that creators should pay attention to in the creative stage of documentaries on children with disabilities.At the same time,the author combined with the practical creation of the graduation work "Sound of Heart",combined the narrative theory with the actual creation to carry out the narrative research,and analyzed the narrative art of the graduation work.Finally,through the narrative research,the future creation trend of documentaries of children with disabilities is prospected,and they are expected to provide some references for the more comprehensive development of documentaries for children with disabilities.
