The Comparative Study Of The Structure "V CHU" And "V DAO"

In previous studies,there were comparisons of the structure �V DAO� and �V LAI�(Fan Like 2012),"V DAO" and "V ZHE"(Yang Jie 2012),and also �V CHU�And �V CHENG�(Guo Shanshan,Zhu Lehong 2010),but there is no study comparing the "V CHU" and "V DAO" structures,and through observation,it is found that there are many similarities between these two structures.These similarities are the basis of the comparison,and both two structures have their own characteristics,which is also the value of comparison.The overall idea of this article is to compare and analyze the syntactic and semantic similarities and differences between the displacement meanings and the result semantic meanings of the two structures respectively,and then explore the displacement and result path schemas of the two.From a horizontal perspective,the difference of these two schemas is the source of the syntactic and semantic differences.And from a longitudinal perspective,there is a correspondence between the displacement path schema of the two basic meanings and the functionalized result path schema,which can prove the basic path diagram has the bottom-level legacy of the expressions in metaphorical schemas.The main content of this article consists of three parts:The first part compares and analyzes the �V CHU" and �V DAO� structures of the displacement meaning from the aspects of syntactic form and semantics,including the types of Verb and Object and the degree of the structure integration.The reason for the differences in the above aspects is the difference in the displacement path patterns of the two.�V CHU� is a displacement with a target,highlighting the path,and �V DAO� is a displacement highlighting the destination reached after the stop of verb.The second part describes functionalized progress of the two structures by the way of the metaphor mechanism and reanalysis.The �V CHU� structure is through the metaphor of �inside-out� path,on the other hand,the�V DAO� is through another way,which is metaphorical projection between different cognitive domains,so the�V CHU�structure has a small functionalized space and the degree of structural integration is low;Reversely,the �V DAO�structure has a large functionalized space and the degree of structural integration is high.Both of them have their own expressions in the four domains of time,scope,degree,and result,which respectively expressed as �V CHU�+time period and �V DAO�+time point,�V CHU�+period and �V DAO�+point,�V CHU�+Noun as a result to describe the degree of Verb indirectly and �V DAO�+Subject-predicate phrase as a condition to describe the degree of Verb directly.The third part describes Characteristics and Collocations of Verbs and Objects in the two structures of result meaning,and also concludes the replacement situation and functional differences between the two.�V CHU�expresses generating or making an object appear through subjective initiative,implying the process,and �V DAO�expresses the result obtained or reached by the end of the action,just emphasizing the result.This is mutually confirmed with the displacement path diagram.In addition,this article considers that the most functionalized �CHU� and �DAO� have not yet become the tense mark,just the�result mark�.
