Language is a tool for human communication, People in different countries can rely on language to understand each other. Korean and Chinese belong to different language, but by comparing their similarities and differences can be translated to communicate and understand.Vocabulary is an important part of language.Because at the same language, different words may have near justice, anti-sense, synony mous relationship, we easily make mistakes. Spatial terms are the basis of vocabulary, and are also the most frequently used words. Also these are a part of what we easily make mistakes. The complicated phenomenon of spatial terms make two language learners confused.This graduation thesis takes about spatial terms of in, that is to say ’(?)’and’ li/zhong/nei’as objects of study. And compare the basic meaning and metaphorical meaning to find out the patterns of use.In the preface the summary of the study objects, significance, purpose in choosing the topic, scope, articles that have been studied, and the study methods are introduced briefly. In the second chapter, I write down the basic meanings of’(?)’and distinguish between them. Then the basic meanings of’li/zhong/nei’are explained. After that compare the basic meanings of’(?) with’li/zhong/nei’. At last, make an assay about the phenomenon of non-correspondence between them. In the third chapter, metaphorical meanings are compared by the same way. The last chaper is simple summary and generalization.I hope this article can help people who learn Korean and Chinese.
