Listening, speaking, reading, and writing play an important role in the language learning process.Listening as the first of the four items,it is more important in communication and language learning. With the continuous deepening of education reform, the requirements for students' listening level are getting higher and higher. The transient characteristic of listening makes it difficult to learn listening. In addition, high school teachers pay less attention to listening teaching and they still use the traditional way-audio recording, check answers in listening teaching. The listening situation of middle school students in China is not optimistic.Based on this, this study explores the relationship between listening strategies and listening performance, with a view to providing valuable suggestions for improving the listening level of high school students.Based on Krashen's understandable input theory, this study systematically studied the use of listening strategies by 221 high school students through questionnaires,English listening tests, and semi-structured interview outlines. With the help of statistical software SPSS22.0,descriptive analysis, normal distribution test,Pearson correlation analysis,Spearman correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis,it aims to find the relationship between the listening learning Strategies and listening scores.Through the analysis,it aims to help high school students find effective listening strategies and improve their listening skills. This study focuses on discussing and answering the following three questions:(1)What is the overall relevance between the subjects' English listening learning strategies and listening performance?(2)What are the differences between the high and low group students' correlations with listening performance in different strategic dimensions?(3)What are the differences in the gender of the learners in the correlation between listening learning strategies and listening performance? The findings of this study are summarized as follows:(1)There is a moderate correlation between the subjects' English listening strategies and their overall listening performance.(2)The correlations between overall listening strategies, metacognitive strategies,social/affective strategies, and listening performance in the high group are higher than those in the low group, and the correlation between high and low group cognitive strategies and listening performance is not statistically significant.(3)The correlations between overall listening strategies, metacognitive strategies, cognitive strategies,social/affective strategies, and listening performance of boys were higher than those of girls.Based on the research results, this study gives suggestions to teachers and students in senior high schools.Correct teachers' and students' attitudes towards listening and enhance their awareness of listening strategies;improve teachers' listening strategy training and integrate listening strategy training into classroom teaching;teachers should consciously train students' basic language skills in daily English teaching activities and strengthen students' confidence.Based on the research results and the actual situation of the students, the most effective listening strategies are selected to teach students according to their aptitudes.
