The Study Of Rural Online Novels

After the development for more than 20 years,online novels have formed diversified novel types,the huge size and convenient media of which have been influencing the setup of literature.Urban,romantic,fantasy,and other types of novels have occupied half of the Internet literature,while rural online novels seem to have become the "lost" world of Internet literature with little attention.In sharp contrast,the traditional rural novels were once brilliant.In the paper media era of modern and contemporary Chinese novels,rural novels have always occupied the mainstream of traditional literature.Why did rural novels meet their Waterloo in the Internet era? What changes have taken place in its stylistic features and narrative modes? How did it affect its artistic level,literary effects,and reader acceptance? In my opinion,these issues are worthy of consideration but analysis have not gained the due attention from the academic community.This article intends to use narratology and media theory as the theoretical basis to examine the similarities and differences between rural online novels and traditional rural novels in a comparative way.Also,the intention is to deeply analyze the space-time narrative,text construction and characterization of rural novels so as to put forward the possibility and focus for the benign development of rural online novels.This article consists of three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.The introduction mainly introduces the concept and current state of rural online novels studied in this article,and sorts out related research results.The body is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is to sort out three types of rural online novels from the perspective of space-time narrative,and to explore their characteristics of time fragmentation as well as space mapping in the space-time narrative.The second chapter discusses how the story world of rural online novels is constructed from the perspective of the theme expression of novels,the use of innovative elements and details,and the arrangement of plot chains.The third chapter mainly explores types of characters in rural online novels,and traces the narrative impetus of the novel from the point of character functions.It also deals with thespecific character images formed under different narrative impetus and further explores the question of authenticity in the character model of rural online novels.The concluding part puts this type of novel in the context of the progress of online literature,and discusses the prospects of rural online novels.It should be seen that,with the evolution of online literature,the future prospects of rural online novels are promising.However,although leveraging from online literature,how to break through its inherent writing mode is an important issue in the development of rural online novels.Only when commercialization and literariness,entertainment and seriousness,routinization and innovation are considered,can we continue to promote the healthy development of rural online novels.
