The Chu Cultural Features Of Zhuangzi From The Perspective Of Language And Characters

Zhuangzi is a typical prose work of the pre-Qin philosophers.It has a transcendental and leaping thinking mode,bold and free narrative language and profound philosophical connotation.The charm of this original classics attracts us to explore its cultural background constantly.There have been many discussions on the relationship between Zhuangzi and Chu culture in academic circles.The main arguments are focused on the style of the article,theideological content and so on,but lack of detailed discussion on language and characters.This paper discusses the relationship between Zhuangzi and Chu language and Chu characters from two aspects of language and characters.In terms of language,this paper analyzes the two language phenomena in Zhuangzi by using Chu language and Chu song language recorded in dialects and Shuowen.By comparing Zhuangzi,we can find that there are two phenomena in Zhuangzi,one is the embodiment of the same language of Chu and Song in Zhuangzi,the other is the embodiment of only Chu language in Zhuangzi.In particular,the embodiment of the second phenomenon in Zhuangzi can not only prove the characteristics of Chu language in Zhuangzi,but also prove the close relationship between Chu language and Song language.In terms of characters,based on the unearthed bamboo and silk,this paper analyzes the characteristics of Chu characters,and discusses their embodiment in Zhuangzi from two aspects:writing features and application features.Using this method,we can correct the mistakes in Zhuangzi and analyze the characters in Zhuangzi,which is not only beneficial to the correct understanding of Zhuangzi,but also can infer the way of writing the early texts of Zhuangzi.Through the comprehensive analysis of language and characters,it can provide effective evidence for the relationship between Zhuangzi and Chu culture.
