The Selected Stories founded in 1980 and ended in 1989,which ran through the whole 1980s.This article takes The Selected Stories as an important research object to study the development of literature in the 1980s.The Selected Stories,the national large-scale literature selection,who born in the national excellent short story awarding activity.Thanks to the literary environment in the 1980s,it became an independent literary selective periodical.The Selected Stories had gone through the whole process of prosperity and decline of short stories and novella in the new period,and has become a well-deserved literary scene in the creation of short stories in the 1980s.Thus,the study of The Selected Stories has undoubtedly become a unique text path back to the historical context of contemporary literary history and observe the overall development of literature in 1980s.My article hopes to investigate and analyze the special value of The Selected Stories in the 1980s literature based on the existing knowledge of the 1980s literature.Specifically,it is divided into the following four chapters to discuss.The first chapter discusses The Selected Stories and medium-length novels and short stories in 1980s,introducing the background and development experience of The Selected Stories.Whether Scar Literary,Root-seeking Literary,Reform Literary,Pioneer Literary or modernist fiction,these literary works with distinctive characteristics in the important literary thoughts of the 1980s are all included in the journal.The 1980s was a golden period for novel creation and literary journal.The literary works selected in The Selected Stories and the creation of writers show has a choice to decide keep or not in the journal.The Selected Stories not only brings excellent pieces of many writers together,but also removes some well-known works enable to seek more outstanding pieces,which have not attracted too much attention before.That is the double imprint that left in the modern contemporary literature history by the selected authors.It not only shows the shaping of literary periodicals on classical writers,but also reflects the changes of writers on literary periodicals and reflects the leading power of The Selected Stories in the development of short stories in the 1980s.The second chapter clarifies the editorial style and artistic characteristics of The development process of the magazine that has become a self-financing magazine since the restart of The Selected Stories in1995.It also points out the fact that The Selected Stories after the unfortunate event is seriously injured.Obviously,The Selected Stories in the current literary environment seems to be overstretched regaining its former glory in the 1980s.
