As the Belt and Road initiative continues to deepen, the economic and cultural exchanges between the countries along the Belt and Road have also deepened. How the pace of Belt and Road should be advanced and how it will develop in the future require not only the active response of the countries along the route, but also the understanding and support of more countries in the world. The material of this translation practice report is selected from Chapter 3 of Belt and Road:A Chinese World Order written by Bruno Ma??es,the famous Portuguese scholar. In this book, for the first time, the author analyzes the connotation and essence of the Belt and Road from both Chinese and Western perspectives and the impact of the Belt and Road initiative on world politics, economy, and order. And he puts forward his own ideas on some problems in the promotion of the Belt and Road initiative. This translation practice report consists of four parts. The first part is the description of the translation task, including the source of the translation material, the introduction of the author and the work, and the significance of the chosen material. The translator explains the reasons for choosing this translation material. The second part is the description of the translation process, including the pre-translation preparation, the difficulties in translation and post-translation review and finalization. The third part is the case analysis of translation.Guided by the Functional Equivalence Theory of Eugene Nida, the translator selects the representative cases in the translation process and analyzes them from the four levels of vocabulary, syntax, context and rhetoric, including cases involving the processing of long and difficult sentences, the use of idioms and the process of rhetoric by the translation methods such as amplification, reorganization and free translation. The fourth part is a summary of translation practice. The translator summarizes the experiences andproblems exposed in this translation practice, and accumulates valuable experience for better translation in the future.
