Management Notice of the Safety Management System is published according to the requirement in the ISM Code and Port State Control.There are many non-subject sentences,complex words,and professional terms,which are the features of the document.The author mainly studies on the part of the occupational safety management in the document.There are a large number of non-subject sentences and professional terms related to specific operations in the source text.From the perspective of Skopos Theory,the author draws on the translation method of scientific and technical texts to translate the maritime documents.The sentences are divided into directly non-subject sentences,indirectly non-subject sentences and hidden-subject sentences.These diverse non-subject sentences are translated into different sentence patterns,such as imperative sentences,passive sentences"There be" formed sentences,sentences that "it" serves as formal subject and subject-add sentences.Short direct non-subject sentences are translated into imperative sentences,complex sentences involving instructions and indirectly non-subject sentences are translated into passive sentences,non-subject sentences which emphasizes position and place are translated with "There be" form sentence,non-subject sentences involving multiple actions are translated with it as formal subject,and omitted subject sentences are added with subjects according to context and semantic information.The author hopes that the report will provide some reference to the non-subject sentence translation of safety management documents.
