A Language Survey Of Henan Dialect Island In Xinyi Village Of Yongji

Xinyi Village is part of the township of Yongji,Yuncheng City,Shanxi Province.As a typical immigrant village,it has a wide range of immigrants,including Henan and Shandong,and some from Hebei,Anhui,and Guizhou.In long-term contact with local residents and other immigrants,the language of immigrants has gradually merged with local dialects to form a unique dialect island phenomenon.Its language has not yet been investigated in depth.In this paper,Henan immigrants from Xinyi Village are investigated,mainly by means of field investigation and sociolinguistics.First,through the field survey method,the language system of the dialect island is comprehensively recorded and compared with the source dialect,local dialect,and Mandarin to find out the difference points and summarize the evolution laws of the dialect island language.On this basis,using sociolinguistic research methods,designing questionnaires,using SPSS software to conduct statistical analysis of data,clarifying the current situation of language use and language changes in dialect islands,analyzing the social reasons for the evolution of language development,and predicting its future development.trend.The investigation found that the dialect island has formed a new language made up of a mixture of source dialects and local dialects.Its characteristics are: In terms of pronunciation,the fine group of initials on the initials is no longer sharp.The mother word and the sun,shadow,and suspect characters are in the mixed state of source dialects and local dialects;The deep and deep vowels are influenced by local dialects from the front nasal rhyme to the open rhyme,and absorb other local vowels;The tone is based on the source dialect and is influenced by local dialects and Mandarin to form a new system.Vocabulary: Most of them have adopted local expressions or have formed new expressions that are different from thesource dialect and different from local dialects and Mandarin.At present,the language status in the village is relatively stable: Dialect Island immigrants use more new languages in the village and use more local dialects outside.With the decrease of age,the language shows the transition from source dialect to new language to local dialect.In line with this trend,with the gradual deterioration of language in the elderly and the replacement of the crowd,the dialect island language will gradually be swallowed up by local words and eventually disappear.The survey shows that the main social factors that lead to the evolution of dialect island language are the change of native language acquisition,the lack of awareness of deliberately retaining the attitude of source dialect,the diversity of language ability and language use,the openness of language environment,and the hierarchical distribution of language use in the user’s social characteristics.
