The purpose of the thesis is to analyze the influence of errors and omissions occur in consecutive interpreting caused by note-taking and to present with coping strategies.By adopting them Interpreters shall be able to mitigate the errors or omissions and thus produce an interpretation with higher quality.The paper takes the case analysis of a mock conference conducted in the Simultaneous Conference Interpreting Lab,Shanghai International Studies University on the 6th of May,2009.The source speech was delivered by Joseph Nye in the Oxford Union in 2018.The author discovered three primary problems in note-taking that cause omissions in interpretation.They are missing information of conclusive sentences;missing information of statements that occurs immediately before a conjunction that links two opposite ideas together;missing of conditional expressions.He found two main causes of errors.They are misleading notes and mistranslation of proper nouns.He provided several strategies in the hope that they can be of help to interpreters who face similar issues during training or when interpreting for conferences.
