The middle ages began with the end of the ancient world, and the old and new order of the western world was changing.People needed a kind of faith as the sustenance of soul and body. The emergence of Christianity could be said to adapt to the social status quo at that time and spread rapidly.During the period of rapid decline of classical civilization,Christianity had become the only spiritual pillar of the precarious Roman empire.Through the collection of relevant literature, the author finds that medieval aesthetics has rich characteristics of The Times and artistic originality, which has greatly changed the aesthetic concept and artistic practice in the European middle ages, and is of great reference significance to the study of the origin of modern design. This paper analyzes the formation of Christian art style in different periods in the middle ages, compares and summarizes it with modern visual communication design, analyzes the inner meaning and content of art works, extracts the aesthetic principle and strategic value behind them, and applies them to the final design works. In medieval Europe, the spread of Christian imagery covered a wide range of areas, spread rapidly to the audience, and its application space was also very wide, including architecture, painting, sculpture, handicrafts, etc.,and even developed a presentation carrier with strong local characteristics. The analysis of the concept of medieval aesthetics can well expand the thinking of designers, make their design works more diversified, more close to life, and can also be integrated with the professional organic. At present, the theory and elaboration on the comparison of religious image in the middle ages and application of visual communication design have not been formed yet,and there is a lack of systematic and theoretical works. This thesis has great research space and value. |
