New materials and techniques have expanded the performance space of design. There are two major art revolutions. But in this essay, we focus on the art revolution between the beginning of 20th century and WWII. This far-reaching art movement directly influenced the formation of modern design. From impressionist, after Cubism, Abstractionism and so on until the establishment of the Bauhaus School of Design, design art has always been following the progress of painting. Modern visual communication design refers from their ideas, colors and forms. In conclusion, it promotes the development of design and realizes the transition from traditional design to modern design.Founded in 1919, Bauhaus School of Design gathered, integrated and improved the "design works of European from 19th to 20th century. Gropius invited artists, such as Kandinsky and Na Kyrgyzstan as art faculty of Bauhaus school. They all put the idea of painting into design. Hence, the creation of Bauhaus School of Design laid the final form of modern design style. Its design collects the essence of Cubism, Futurism, Abstractionism and Surrealism. They guide the design with painting theory, try to break the boundaries of art and design and so create "complete art". Painting promotes the design. Painting and design are combined. The basic teaching system of modern design practiced and explored by Bauhaus, has become a model for future design of teaching institutions.
