The process of education begins at birth and lasts a lifetime,producing profound influences.With the development and advance of Chinese society,the public attention to education has reached an unprecedented level,and the topic of education in China is increasingly hot.However,with the rapid economic growth,China's urban-rural divide is widened continuously,which raises public awareness of Chinese rural education.Thus,the media,adhering to a strong sense of social responsibility and mission,focus their creation on the theme of rural education.They try to touch the inner world of educators and educatees from a multi-dimensional perspective through documentary,the image medium,to summarize,reflect and criticize Chinese rural education.The precious images that they recorded are loaded with the educational mission and aspiration,and are the vivd interpretation of the real situation of Chinese rural education as well.Due to all sorts of the complicated problems in the creation process,the quality of Chinese rural educational documentaries have both good and bad.This paper studies the creation of documentaries on education in Chinese rural area,summarizes and extracts the past creation experience,in hope of providing samples and inspiration for the future creation.This study mainly includes five parts:1.The first part mainly introduces the background and significance of the research,the status of relevant research at home and abroad,as well as the purpose,content and methods of the research.2.The second part mainly defines the related concepts of Chinese rural educational documentary and deeply analyzes its value and significance from three aspects,including the flaws of contemporary Chinese rural educational system,lessons and inspiration of the development of Chinese rural education,and the humanistic concern for rural education.3.The third part takes the creation of excellent documentaries on Chinese rural education as a sample,and classifies them into five main contents,including substitute teachers,volunteer teachers,left-behind children,children of migrants,and out-of-school children in poverty-stricken area.4.The fourth part summarizes and analyzes the narrative strategies of Chinese rural educational documentaries from three aspects: narrative perspective,narrative modes and narrative skills.5.The fifth part explains the significance of the awareness of how to use audio-visual language.In this paper,documentary creation theory and film and television narrative theory areintroduced into the creation process of Chinese rural educational documentary in an attempt to provide theoretical support and rational thinking for the creation of Chinese rural educational documentary.Find out the shortcomings of the previous works by the research,and provides reference and guidance for the future works.
