In terms of simultaneous interpretation,it is a complicated and bilingual oral communication activity,in which the amount of time available and the amount of information that can be processed are rigorously limited. However, the quality of interpretation will also decline when the interpreter's mental workload is too heavy in the process of simultaneous interpretation.According to the energy distribution model of Jill,it is extremely difficult to coordinate three kinds of energy in simultaneous interpretation meetings at the same time, such as listening and understanding,short-term memory and speech production. On the other hand, the grammatical structure of Japanese and Chinese is also quite different, which thus will further increase the energy load of interpreters. As a result, interpreters should use predictive strategies to reduce the energy load as much as possible as well as verify the accuracy and fluency of the translation in the practice of simultaneous interpretation. In this paper,it firstly refers to the aforementioned studies,so as to define and classify the prediction strategy. At the same time,it is specified that the prediction in the simultaneous interpretation is not only ahead of the source language, but also slightly behind the source language in more cases, but the predictive behavior has occurred before the source language is heard. Moreover, interpretation strategies can be divided into 2categories,such as linguistic prediction and non-linguistic prediction. In this paper,it also explains that it is necessary to use predictive strategies in simultaneous interpretation between Japanese and Chinese due to the later tendency of Japan and the characteristics of long conjunctive modifiers. Then,it takes the simulation meeting of the investment presentation meeting of 2018 Tokyo Maritine Group facing individual investors as an example, which analyzes the successful and failed cases of using forecasting strategy in the simultaneous interpretation of Japanese and Chinese. Thus,it is concluded that interpreters can make the prediction with the help of fixed collocation and compound words of verb-object phrases at the word level. In the aspect of the sentence level,it can be predicted by Japanese narrative adverbs, subsequent auxiliaries and auxiliary words that prompt the subject. In addition,it can make the prediction at the next level according to the semantics of the context.Meanwhile, preparation for translation and scenario prediction is also of great help to the successful application of prediction strategies.Besides, the timely correction and repair should be made under the allowance of time and energy when meeting the failure of prediction. After that,it discusses the methods to strengthen the effective prediction ability in this paper,in which the interpreter should first make the preliminary prediction well,as well as should predict the communicative situation and related vocabulary in the preparation for translation.Secondly,it summarizes the relationship between verb-object collocation and narrative adverbs in Japanese speeches. Finally,it puts forward that interpreters can also make reference to the training methods of the Higher School of Translation in Paris and do some training for prediction,so as to strengthen the ability of prediction.
