Research On The Character Family Teaching For Ukrainian Chinese Learners

Abstract/Summary:
This paper is based on the theory of Chinese character family,Chinese characters and vocabulary teaching.It takes an important family of characters in modern Chinese characters,"Xin" family as an example,and analyzes the meaning categories,structural features and word formation of such Chinese characters.On this basis,the Ukrainian Chinese learners are investigated about the acquisition of such Chinese characters,and suggestions are made for the teaching of related Chinese characters and the preparation of teaching materials.The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter introduces the origin,purpose and significance of the research.It also introduces the research status of Chinese character family teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and summarizes the research results of the predecessors,analyzing the problems and deficiencies,and lays the foundation for further research.On this basis,it establishes the ideas and methods of the research.The second chapter examines the family of characters "Xin" in the "Common Chinese Characters Table" which attached to the "General Course Outline for International Chinese Teaching".It mainly includes two aspects:one is to sort out and summarize the distribution of the family of characters "Xin" in the "Common Chinese Characters Table";the other is based on the distribution of the family of characters "Xin",from the meaning category,the structural characteristics of Chinese characters and the word formation to comprehensively explore the function and characteristics of the "Xin".The third chapter investigates and analyzes the cognition and acquisition of Ukrainian Chinese learners.Starting from the two aspects of cognition and acquisition,this paper examines the students’ understanding and mastery of the family of characters "Xin" in the primary,middle and high stages.Through investigation,we found the main problems and learning characteristics of students in the process of acquiring such Chinese characters,and specifically analyzed the causes of the problems,and proposed corresponding countermeasures.The fourth chapter carries on the teaching design of such Chinese characters which based on the previous investigation.The teaching design is divided into two parts,one is to introduce the purpose of instructional design;the other is to design a specific teaching plan.The author selects the most frequently presented of the family of characters "Xin" in "New Practical Chinese Textbook"(Volume 3)for instructional design.Through the teaching design of the family of characters "Xin",this paper explores the classroom teaching mode of such Chinese characters,so as to cultivate and enhance students’ awareness of the characters,and master the learning methods of Chinese characters and improve the efficiency of Chinese learning.On the basis of the previous analysis and investigation,the fifth chapter puts forward some suggestions for classroom teaching,textbook writing and students’learning for Ukrainian Chinese learners.The sixth chapter is the conclusion of this paper.It summarizes the research results of this paper,and points out the shortcomings in this paper.On this basis,it proposes further research ideas.
