The advice taking has always been a hot issue in the field of decision-making,and it is widely used in the daily work and life of individuals.Numerous studies have shown that emotions are an important factor on advive taking.Since 2003,research on awe in the field of psychology has gradually enriched.Awe is a complex emotion that mixes many feelings of confusion,admiration,surprise,obedience,etc.It is a positive and obedient emotional experience.The theory of positive emotion development and construction believes that positive emotions will make the individual's thinking activities more active,and the scope of attention will be more extended,thus having stronger cognitive motivation and cognitive flexibility.Based on positive emotion development and construction theory,we assume that awe,as a kind of positive emotion,will influence the individual's advice taking.This study designed two experiments to explore the impact of awe on emotions.Experiment 1 used the JAS(Judge-Advisor System)paradigm to examine the impact of awe on the advice taking.The video-induced method was used to induce the awe,neutral,and joy of the subjects,and the multi-dimensional emotion rating scale was used to test the emotional effect,and the proportion of the recommended value of others in the final decision(WOA value)was used as a measure.An indicator of the extent to which an individual advice taking.On the basis of Experiment 1,Experiment 2 used the same method,adding two variables-the small-self and humility,to induce the awe and neutral of the subject by video induction,and to explore the intermediate mechanism between awe and the advice taking:The intermediary role of the small-self and humility.After using independent sample t-test,analysis of variance,correlation analysis,process plug-in and other statistical methods to analyze the data,the study draws the following conclusions:(1)Positive emotions have a significant influence on advice taking.Therecommendations of individuals in awe are the highest,the joy is second,and the neutral is the lowest.(2)There is a positive correlation between awe and the small-self,the small-self and humility,humility and advice taking,awe and advice taking.And awe has a significant positive predictive effect on recommendation adoption;(3)The small-self and humility act as a chain intermediary in the relationship between awe and advice taking.This study explore the relationship between awe and advice taking.On the one hand,it is important to help decision makers improve the quality of decision-making and help the recommenders to maximize the effect of their suggestions.On the other hand,domestic research on awe is just beginning.It could enrich the theoretical basis of awe and emotion to a certain extent,provide reference for subsequent related research,and provide a basis for cross-cultural research in awe.
