Since the Ming Dynasty, the war in Dongting Lake has been repeated, and the floods in the late Kangxi period have been frequent. After entering the Qing Dynasty, the Manchurian rulers advocated “slightness and thinness”.Shunzhi,Kangxi and Yongzheng all implemented a series of preferential agricultural and people's livelihood policies in this area to promote the rapid recovery of society. This paper starts with the main levy system implemented in the seven counties of Dongting Lake District in the early Qing Dynasty, focusing on the actual burden and changes of various taxes in this area, supplemented by various wars, disasters and corresponding countermeasures in the early Qing Dynasty, trying to use actual figures.Such methods truly reflect the commitment of the Dongting Lake area in the early Qing Dynasty.
