There are two ways to acquire a language,learn it at school or natural acquisition.At school the students will learn the basic knowledge and rules of the language.If the students want to get the sense of the language,to speak more authentic andunderstand the culture behind the language,they have to put themselves into the language environment,that helps them to improve their language skills,gain the knowledge and learn more efficiently.For various reasons,more and more people are coming to China for learning Chinese.In Xi’an,there are many students from Central Asia,and many of them are from Kazakhstan.But what we see is,that they are not really learning Chinese by using the target-language environment.The main purpose of this paper is to find the reason behind why the Kazakhstan students is like that,and how to solve the problems.This paper is divided into 6 parts,the first part introduces the background,the purpose of this paper and how we do the research;from the second part,we can review the related literatures both in China and abroad;the third part shows the result and the analysis of the survey and interview,that we did for the selected theme.the forth part analyzes the internal and external reasons,that affect the students to use the target-language environment;the fifth part is the suggestions for students,teacher and the school;the last part gives a conclusion of this paper and points out the shortcomings.
