A Report On The E-C Translation Of SMS For Small,Non-complex Organizations

With the development of civil aviation in China,safety has become the focus of the stable and sustainable development of China's civil aviation.According to the requirements of ICAO,for the sound and rapid development of China's civil aviation,it is an effective method to promote the Safety Management System(SMS)to solve the safety-related problems.However,the SMS of China's civil aviation is still immature.So,it is necessary to improve the China's aviation safety in the opening-up and international cooperation,and to learn and introduce advanced technology and safety management methods of civil aviation powers.At this point,the translation of SMS related texts is particularly important,and the quality of their translation has an indispensable influence on the quality of the SMS,which requires the translation of SMS related texts be more normative with translation strategies and skills.This report is based on the translation of SMS for Small,Non-complex Organizations of the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Administration.In the source text,there are many terminologies and cleft sentences,as well as the characteristics of strong logic and close connection.The author adopts the method of combining the representative cases and theories to analyze from the three levels of the lexis,syntax and text,and discusses how to give proper play to the translator's subjectivity to make the translation more accurate and precise in a complete translation practice.Meanwhile,the author summarizes the corresponding translation strategies and skills,in order to provide reference and help for herself and others.
