The editorial work of Dunhuang fiction has been going on since the discovery of Dunhuang literature.However,due to the fact that the definition of Dunhuang fiction has not been finalized in the academic circles,the research progress of Dunhuang fiction is very slow.Until the publication of Dunhuang Novels Collection,the author not only made a clear definition of Dunhuang Novels,but also made a systematic compilation and annotation of Dunhuang Novels.Most of the Dunhuang novels included in the Collection of Dunhuang Novels originated in the Tang and Five Dynasties.There are two main categories: popular fiction and ancient fiction.Its content is mainly folk tales,historical stories,Buddhist stories and so on.Its language is popular and highly spoken.It can truly reflect the language features of that time.It is a valuable corpus for language research.This paper is divided into five parts.The introduction part mainly introduces Dunhuang Novels Collection and its research status,research significance and research content.Chapter one analyses the evolution of new words,new meanings and new meanings in Dunhuang Novels Collection.The second chapter mainly introduces the Buddhist words appearing in the Collection of Dunhuang Novels and their influence on the vocabulary of Dunhuang Novels.Chapter 3,on the basis of Chapter 1 and Chapter 2,mainly analyses the way of word formation in Dunhuang fiction.Through exhaustive analysis,this paper summarizes eight ways of word formation in Dunhuang fiction.The fifth chapter is a comparative study of words in classical fiction and popular fiction.Through the comparison,we find the similarities and differences of words in the two kinds of fiction works,and analyze the reasons.
