As a communication tool which can timely and accurate response to t he political, economic, and cultural development and changes of a period, new words are under the spotlight in recent years, concern, and it has became one of the important research object in the current linguistics. The word-formation of Chinese and English new words also became the focus of scholars. Affixation de corated with the most basic part of the western languages word formation, the st atus in the construction of a new English word is obvious. However, this is a b rand-new subject for traditional Chinese literature, it is in essence different from "affixation" of Western linguistics.This thesis is on A Contrastive Analysis of th e Affixation of Word-formation of English and Chinese Neologisms. Comparative analysis the affixation of English and Chinese new words by comparing the ana lysis and qualitative quantitative statistical and other methods focused on research the difference of affixation of Chinese and English new words and the main ca uses of the differences.This article is divided into six parts. The first part is the topics of reason, purpose, research status, an overview of research and research methods; The seco nd part is the definition of new words and suffix word formation; the third part give a clear definition of Chinese affixes of the first and analysis of the affixat ion of word-formation of word-formation of Chinese New Words; The fourth pa rt analyzes the affixation of word-formation of English new Words; The fifth par t contrastive the affixation of word-formation of Chinese and English new word focus on nature, characteristics and grammatical function of the affixes; Part six analyzes the reasons for the differences in the affixation of word-formation of C hinese and English new words; The seven part is conclusion.The study of this article is conducive to the tendency and regularity of Chinese and English new words, at the same time, it can help foreign language learner study and understand Chinese and English new words much better.
