A Study On The Aspects Of Shanggao Dialect In Gan Dialect

Shanggao County is located in the northwest of Jiangxi Province.The popular language in Shanggao is Shanggao dialect,which is one of the typical dialects of the Yiliu part of Gan dialect.At present,there are very few research on Shanggao dialect and only several papers about the grammar of Shanggao dialect have been published.However,we have not found any academic works of the aspects of Shanggao dialect.This paper mainly studies the aspects of Shanggao dialect based on the analysis of a large amount of linguistic data by fieldwork,This paper is devoted to the study on the aspects of Shanggaoalso by the way of a through and systematic research.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,which elaborates the situation of geography,demographics and history of Shanggao County,as well as the present research results about Shanggao dialect and the aspects of Chinese languages,which include the concept of aspect,the academic results on the aspects of both Mandarin and Chinese dialects.It also introduces the research purpose and academic value,research methods and the source of linguistic data of this study.With reference to the current theoretical viewpoint of Zhang Shuangqing(1996),Li Rulong(1996),Li Xiaofan(1998)and Dai Yaojing(1997),the aspects is divided respectively into two categories which are “ti”(?)and “mao”(?),based on the two different levels of words and sentences.“ti”(?)means the state of the action or events in the certain time of course.And “mao”(?)usually embodies the sentiment of the action subject,and it is less related to or has nothing with the time course of action or events.The second part presents a comprehensive and detailed description and analysis about“ti”(?)system of Shanggao dialect,which comprises ten kinds of“ti”,that are,the perfective aspect,experience aspect,progressive aspect,continuousaspect,initial aspect,continual aspect,transitory aspect,tentative aspect,restore aspect and multifunctional aspect.and the marks of“ti”(?)include“?1”?“?1”?“?”?“?”,“?2”,“??/?”,“?”,“?”?“??”,“??”?“??”,“?”?“?/??”,“?”?“??”,“V?V?”?“V?V?”,“?2”.Each“ti”(?)has one or more marks,at the same time,each mark also undertakes one or more aspect significance.This part details the marks and its grammatical meaning,function and distribution of these“ti”(?).By comparing it with mandarin and other Chinese dialects,as well as studying the grammaticalization,it aims at revealing the characteristics of Shanggao dialect's“ti”(?)system.The third part gives a detailed description and analysis about“mao”(?)system of Shanggao dialect,which includes fulfilled aspect,unfinished aspect and antecedent aspect,and the marks of“mao”(?)include“?2”?“?3”?“??3”?“?1”?“?”and“?”.The forth part summarizes the features of aspect marks of Shanggao dialect from different perspectives like pronunciation,structure,function,meaning,grammatical meaning,syntactic position,additional meaning and overlapping of the aspect marks.It also gives an overall analysis to the characteristics of the aspects of Shanggao dialect diachronically and synchronically.At last,this paper points out the deficiencies of the paper and puts forward the prospects of further studies.
