| As a specialized text,the legal text is definitely different from the non-legal text in the characteristics.So it requires for a targeted legal translation theory to guide corresponding translation techniques when translating legal texts.The translator selects the Notice of the Supreme People's Court on Printing and Distributing the Guiding Opinions on Improving and Standardizing the Interpretation and Reasoning in Judgments,including the Opinions and a reading,as the source text.According to the legal text typology of ?ar?evi?,the translator construes the two parts as legal texts as a whole.Due to the specialties of legal texts and the modeled usage of legal languages,static equivalence theory stresses the full-scale static equivalence between the source text and the target text.In other words,it stresses that all the information,style and structure in the source text should be precisely and fully expressed in the target text,achieving a complete equivalence to the largest extent,so that the target text can play the same functions and thus produce the same legal effects as the source text does.Therefore,the translator finally determines that static equivalence theory is suitable for translating the source text after analyzing and comparing various translation theories.Guided by static equivalence theory,the translator mainly solves four types of problems,including the translation of legal terms,legal sentences,passive voice and long sentences.In the translation process,the translator successfully reflects the original writing intention of the source text to the full,conveying the literal and deep meaning,language structure,writing style and format in a faithful and equivalent way.Eventually,the translator finishes the report on the translation practice,hoping to make the report serve as reference for legal translation in the future. |
