On the base of the translation work of the Effect of Competition Law on Patent Remedies,independently completed by the author,the author demonstrates that the translation work can be improved under the guidance of static equivalence theory,proposed by professor Li Kexing.In order to improve the translation quality,offer a different perspective on legal translation and promote the legal exchange of the world,the guided function of static equivalence will be discussed.Legal text boasts the unique linguistic characteristics,such as large number of terms and professional concepts which is hard to understand,many long sentences with complicate structure.It‘s difficult to understand for native speakers,much less for translators with little professional knowledge.However,the authority on law,as the indispensable element for social operation,should not be ignored,and translated texts with high quality are even in great need.Recently,the study of legal translation both at home or in abroad are guided by the dynamic equivalence developed by Nida or the communicative translation theory proposed by Newmark.By analyzing the difficulties and resolutions encountered in the processing of translation,the author analyzes the translation of legal documents from three levelslexical level,syntactic level and textual level.It has been proved that under the guidance of static equivalence theory,the quality of legal translation can be improved.The author concludes the strategies of legal translation to put forward a new perspective for the future translation of legal documents.Meanwhile,the author hope to make a bit of contribution to the legal translation in the future.
