In 2007,Xi’an Institute of Physical Education officially established the Department of Art.In 2010,it was renamed the Department of Sports and Art.At the same time,it opened three undergraduate majors,namely,performance majors,Dance Majors and musicology majors.Therefore,our dance major has not been carried out for a long time,and the teaching quality is not stable and perfect enough.In the process of development,how to combine the comprehensive conditions of the school and the concept of running a school to promote the teaching quality of dance major in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education to achieve positive development results is a key issue.This research focuses on the current situation of dance teaching quality in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education.With the National Standard for Teaching Quality of Undergraduate Specialty in Universities promulgated by the Ministry of Education in2018 as the key background,this paper analyses and compares the teaching quality problems of dance major in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education,and makes a systematic summary of the current teaching situation of dance major in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education.has given the corresponding improvement measures,from the theoretical level to provide the corresponding guarantee for the development of dance teaching in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education,and further enhance the better development of dance teaching quality in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education.Based on the National Standard for Teaching Quality of Undergraduate Specialty in Universities and Colleges,this study investigates dance teachers,students and experts of dance major in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education by using the methods of documentation,interview,questionnaire and mathematical statistics.Starting from the training scheme,curriculum system,teaching staff,teaching conditions and teaching quality monitoring system,we can basically grasp the current situation.The teaching quality problems of dance major in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education are found to be inadequate,the reasons are analyzed,and the countermeasures are put forward to provide ideas and references for the reform of teaching quality of dance major in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education,improve the quality of dance major in Xi’an Institute of Physical Education,and make dance teaching specialty more in line with the training needs of dance professionals under the national standards.Through the study,the following conclusions are drawn:1.In terms of training programs,according to the requirements of the national dance specialty,dance specialty of Xi’an Sports College attaches great importance to training students dance theory knowledge,learning and creative ability;when training talents,it has specialized theoretical teaching and skills training,and at the same time,it can cultivate talents with strong learning and practical ability.2.In terms of curriculum system,the characteristics of physical education institutions are not fully displayed when setting major courses.The content similarityof public courses is basically the same.The curriculum arrangement of professional courses is not perfect,and the proportion of compulsory courses is high.Greater attention should be paid to the practice of teaching and strict assessment.The quality of graduation thesis(design)needs to be improved.3.In terms of teaching conditions,the leaders of Xi’an Institute of Physical Education have paid enough attention to it and the financial support from the higher authorities.The teaching conditions of the school have been greatly improved,and the funds invested have continued to increase,which has greatly improved the conditions of running the school.Xi’an Institute of Physical Education is well equipped with professional equipment for dance majors.However,through the investigation,we know that the off-campus practice base receives fewer students and can not fully meet the practical teaching of dance undergraduates.Individual teaching facilities need to be further improved.4.In terms of teaching staff,the title of teachers is more reasonable,which can meet the needs of daily teaching and scientific research in schools.However,there is still a gap between the proportion of teachers and the requirements of national standards.There are few teachers with educational background in art colleges and universities,and their research ability is relatively weak.5.In the aspect of teaching quality monitoring system,the responsibility consciousness of school teaching quality assurance needs to be strengthened,and the teaching quality evaluation system needs to be further improved;the closed-loop system of continuous quality improvement has not really been established and operated;the means of collecting information for teaching quality monitoring is not advanced enough,and the scope of teaching quality monitoring is not comprehensive enough.
