China has a traditional agricultural culture for a long time in the history.The villages played an important role in China’s economic development and also served as the cultural carrier of traditional Chinese farming culture.With the process of urbanization,the rural population began to enter the city continuously,and the countryside immediately became hollow,aging,and homogenized.With the Chinese government’s attention,experts in various fields have made suggestions for the revival of the countryside.With the successful of Echigo-tsumari Art Field,people have been concerned that the involvement of the village of earth art can be an effective way to promote the comprehensive rejuvenation of the country.The Shangmeng Xun Meng Project was proposed and practiced according to this social background,trying to propose a new idea through theoretical analysis and practical experience,that is,using the land art as a catalyst to promote the comprehensive rejuvenation of the countryside.First of all,this paper analyzes the research results of rural values by some scholars,namely the agricultural value of the countryside,the value of the hinterland,and the value of the homeland.On this basis,it is proposed that the comprehensive rejuvenation of the village not only focuses on the economic construction at the material level,but also on the spirit.The cultural renaissance at the level is valued.Secondly,this paper summarizes the background and characteristics of the development of land art and the examples of the involvement of land art in rural creation,and through the analysis of the case of Echigo-tsumari Art Field,it proposes the path of land art to help the comprehensive rejuvenation of the countryside,including the choice of materials.The reshaping of space has been the inheritance of traditional culture.Thirdly,based on the theoretical analysis,this paper sorts out the practice of the Shangmeng Xun Meng Project.Through the field investigation of Shangmeng Township,based on the geography,humanities and existing problems,the targeted creation of the land art is carried out in the rural areas,and the results are summarized and considered.Finally,through the comprehensive analysis of the above theories,cases and practices,this paper proposes the effect of land art as a medium of contact into the countryside.First,it helps the countryside and art to inspire each other.Second,it helps to reshape and activate the original abandoned space.Third,it contributes to the inheritance of traditional culture.
