On The Employment Of Four-Character In English-Chinese Translation

The present paper aims to explore the employment of four-character words in the translation from English to Chinese approached from the characteristics and advantages of such idiomatic Chinese words.Based on the translation of Chapter 3and Chapter 4 of Artrage: The Story of the Britart Revolution,this paperexamines the basic types of English text that can be translated into four-character words from word-level and discusses the advantages of utilizing four-character words in English-Chinese translation,which render the translated text idiomatic,rhythmic and dynamic.
