Michael S.Gazzaniga,a well-known thinker,is known as the father of contemporary cognitive neuroscience, the founder of cognitive neuroscience, and Hawking in the field of brain science. In 2001,he was invited to join the U.S.Presidential Committee of Experts on Bioethics to study the impact of various biotechnologies on society and ethics. As the founder of cognitive neuroscience, his neuroethical thought has great research value for the development of contemporary ethics. This paper systematically analyses the background of Gazzaniga’s neuroethics from the two aspects of neuroscience and ethics. The emergence of his neuroethics thought is closely related to the development of neuroscience and the emergence of cognitive neuroscience, and his thought mainly comes from the research approach of cognitive neuroscience of ethics and the study of ethics and ethics.Secondly, through Gazzaniga’s specific definition of neuroethics, his neuroethics thoughts are analyzed and explained in three aspects.Through the study of cognitive neuroscience,Gazzaniga found that there is innate moral intuition in the human brain in terms of moral sources. He believed that human moral cognition is not only influenced by genes(innate moral intuition),but also by cultural and environmental factors. In the process of moral cognition, human beings have hardware and morality to run moral procedures.Build the module.Despite his belief that the human brain has innate moral intuition and hardware to run moral procedures,it seems to him that no matter what factors affect human moral perception, human beings are the origin of individual responsibility and the carrier of moral responsibility for their own behavior. Finally, through the specific analysis of Gazzaniga’s neuroethics, the research value of Gazzaniga’s neuroethics thoughts for today’s society is fully explored from the theoretical and practical levels. This paper finds that his neuroethics thought not only opened up a new way of thinking for the study of traditional ethics, but also posed new challenges for the development of traditional ethics. In addition, his neuroethics thought is also conducive to establishment of ethical and moral guidelines in the field of brain science research, the construction of moral standard system in realistic society and construction of social legal system.
