Hideo Saito is a famous conductor,music educator in Japan in the 20th century.He had brought up a group of famous conductors represented by Seiji Ozawa,Kazuyoshi Akiyama in the world by his teaching system.His Tutorials in conducting techniques discussed kinds of conducting techniques which based on the expatiation of physical motion process of beating.It can greatly enhance the accuracy of beating and the control of the orchestra and it has remarkable value on the conducting teaching.This thesis try to elaborate the main conducting techniques theories and the method of application in the Tutorials in conducting techniques as simple ways as possible,explaining relative technique theories that are difficult to understand,putting forward own points for the usage of some techniques and making suggestions for the method of conducting of difficult places in Scheherazade.Finally,it discussed the comprehensive application of the Tutorials in conducting technique that taking the second movement in Scheherazade as examples,and hoping to make contributions to the learners who are studying this conducting system and its'generalization.There are four chapters in this thesis.The first chapter interpreted the fundamental theory of beating motion in terms of the principle of circular motion and the theory of two points,explaining the relation between acceleration and deceleration movement and the change of tempo and dynamics.The second chapter illustrated the movement process and functions of conducting techniques in the indirect and direct movement,teasing the relation between various conducting techniques in direct motion.The third chapter summarized the movement process and usage of four stopping movements.The fourth chapter elaborated the comprehensive application of the Tutorials in conducting technique in the second movement of Scheherazade.
