Linguists think that even if the language transfer cannot explain all kinds of errors in second language acquisition,but if we don't consider the impact of language transfer,there is no one that can clearly explain the reasons of all the errors.For Chinese Senior High School Students,Chinese negative transfer will influence their English writing.This paper focuses on the qualitative and quantitative investigation and analysis of English writing for senior high school students by the the theories of error analysis and interlanguage analysis,whose purpose is to make clear the reasons for Chinese negative transfer and figure out the solutions to reduce the errors in consequence of negative transfer of mother tongue,which reduces Chinese negative transfer and improves senior high school students' English writing.The research questions are:(1)What varieties of errors are caused by Chinese negative transfer in senior high school students' English writing?(2)What is the specific percentage of errors caused by Chinese negative transfer in senior high school students' English writing?(3)What are the reasons for the errors caused by Chinese negative transfer? The author carefully collected the data materials,clarified the errors and explained them separately.In my research,a questionnaire survey was conducted among students in Songyuan Experimental Middle School.Since then 180 compositions of this school have been collected and the results of questionnaire and the numbers from different kinds of errors have been statistically analyzed.After conducting the research,some conclusions are drawn as follows.At first,twenty-one types of errors caused by Chinese negative transfer from senior high school students English writings are listed.Then the errors in syntax accounts for the largest.It is the most difficult task to learn syntax for senor high students.At last,the main reasons for errors caused by Chinese negative transfer are the influences from native thinking and culture.Thus it is essential to deal with errors caused by Chinese negative transfer correctly,research on similarities and differences between English and Chinese and attach importance to students' foundation.
