A Study On The Pan Clan In Jingping During The Ming And Qing Dynasties

This paper takes the Pan clan of Jingping in Ming and Qing dynasties as the research object,and pays attention to the historical function of clan system and the change of Ming and Qing dynasties in the river basin since the Ming and Qing dynasties.The Pan clan in Jingping was a local clan in Qianyang during the Ming and Qing dynasties.In his paper on "the Barbarian lineage of Modern Hunan people",Mr.Tan Qixiang discussed Pan more.On the basis of previous studies on the clan,the author first makes a detailed study on the origin and migration of the Pan clan in Jingping,and thinks that the ancestors of the Pan clan in Jingping may be the military households who moved here in the early years of the Ming Dynasty,and the author thinks that the ancestors of the Pan clan in Jingping may have moved to this area in the early Ming Dynasty.The reason why the ancestor was descended from Pan Mei,a great minister of the Northern Song Dynasty,and was relegated here was that during the period of Qing Dynasty,during the process of clan organization construction,Pan's ancestors "attached" the same surname to the big family.The other lineage is the branch of this lineage.After the middle and late Ming Dynasty,the Pan clan developed slowly for a long time,and began to appear low-level imperial examination personnel.During this period,the Pan clan in Jingping,with the efforts of family elites such as Pan Jisi,began to try to participate in and dominate the "five gods" and the "voodoo faith" in the belief system recognized by the state.And preliminarily shaped the orthodoxy of the Pan clan in the local area.Then the Ming and Qing dynasties,the rise of the Pan clan interrupted the momentum.After entering the Qing Dynasty,with the Qing government carrying out the donation,imperial examination and banners system in order to stabilize the place and restore the social order,the Pan clan began from the middle of the Qing Dynasty,in the middle of the Qing Dynasty.Led by a large number of elite family groups,Qianyang Pan took the road to rejuvenation again.And completed the first "Qianyang Pan clan genealogy",the establishment of ancestral hall and worship field,clan science and other construction,in the middle of the Qing dynasty completed the organization of the clan construction.At the same time,it was during this period that Pan completed its formalization process in the area.The article holds that through the study of the Pan clan in Jingping during the Ming and Qing dynasties,the author hopes to observe the development of local society and history through the historical evolution of a family,and that "marginal area" hopes to use clan system to observe the development of local society and history.Local shaping of the process of regularization,thus incorporating the efforts of the "central civilization".The article further holds that the clan system has an important influence on the social development of the river basin since Ming and Qing dynasties.Through the study of the history of the Pan clan in Jingping,it is helpful to the specific role played by the clan in the Ming and Qing dynasties,and to enrich the case study of the clan in this area.
