As an important field of the theory of Erhu performance art,Erhu fingering sequence has been mentioned in existing literatures more or less,but we have not lucubrated and exploited in a multi-level and m ulti-dimensional way,leaving Erhu fingering in a state where there is n o clear definition and stage division.We are going to classify the Erhu fingering sequence into four major categories hereinafter on the basis of their respective characteristic in a sysmatic way which refer to ba sic fingering sequence,tone row fingering sequence,string-shift fingering sequence and combination fingering sequence successively.All these ty pes of fingering sequence,in which there are inclusive,progressive,parat atic,derived and overlapping logical relationships.The naming and classi fying on Erhu fingering sequence are aimed at questing the essential connotation itself and understanding the genetic relationships between each fingering sequences and then clarifying conceptual boundary of Er hu fingering and fingering sequence.Thus we could find out a rigoro us and careful research mentality.
