Research On Zhang Yanyuan’s Identification And Evaluation Of Paintings

Painting appreciation of the profound mystery,the previous inherent theory of the person,but the words of the clear,comprehensive,should be called Zhang Yanyuan.Zhang Yanyuan was an outstanding theorist,aesthetician and connoisseur of painting and calligraphy in the Tang Dynasty,a master of calligraphy and painting theory.He wrote the first general history of Chinese painting,Records of Famous Paintings of the Past Dynasties,and Records of Calligraphy,which were based on these two books,from which to sort out his many views and theoretical ideas about painting appreciation.The "appreciation of painting" in the historical context involves two aspects of painting identification and evaluation.Zhang Yanyuan’s painting appreciation originates from the Zhang family’s style about collection of calligraphy and painting,and the formation of his view of painting appreciation is the result of the interaction of various factors.Painting identification germination in the Wei and Jin dynasties,summed up in the Tang Dynasty,systematically organized,recorded and written of the argument from the Zhang Yanyuan.His identified the experience and methods of painting is mainly based on painting itself,using style and details to compare the identification of painting;supplemented by imprint,the previous generation of literature,calligraphy and painting materials,dressing form,and the identification of perjury methods and other knowledge painting.In the painting evaluation,his point of view with a strong personal color,such as "Admiring the ancient and dislike the nowadays" aesthetic tendency,see people painting as good and objects painting as bad,to the view of "nature as the top",to sum up its painting evaluation criteria are three:one is the ancient and modern stages;the second is the identity of the painter;the third is the fifth-class painting.Based on the above research foundation,the summary of Zhang Yanyuan’s painting appreciation concept is as follows: Firstly,the exploration and summary of the painting identification experience and methods,laid the foundation for the basic establishment of the painting identification method in the Song Dynasty,and the book Records of Famous Paintings of the Past Dynasties,and Records of Calligraphy for the subsequent appraiser left a reliable and detailed examination treasure House.and its influence continues to the study of painting identification in later generations.Thesecond is to establish a new system of painting evaluation,which has improved the status of the literati in painting,and has a profound influence on the formation and development of literati painting in later generations.
